I have now upgraded the forum to display pictures and invite you to put your pics up for critique, assessment and advice from the forum members, to put an image in a post all you need to do is link to it with the full link eg:(http://www.domain.com/imagename.jpg)
The system will automatically turn it into display of the image, you can do the same with videos etc
It will be a good idea to upload your images to a service such as flickr.com or picasa, you will then get a link to your picture that you just paste in the forum without the brackets----> ()
Looks like the the driver said to have infringed might have been over taking and more likely crossing the line. Driver of the vehicle need to verify location and check the speed limit in that location compared to what has been printed on the photo.
Hi Jurie, you would need to first upload your pic to the web using a service like flickr.com for example, then use the link to your photo and insert it in your post. it will automatically appear
I received the fine from the Magisterial District of Bloemhof. When I couldn't find the photo for the fine on the Internet, I phoned them up and they emailed these two photos to me. (I have already replied to the email and asked for a higher resolution image, because none of the details on the photo are legible). Also, the zoomed image doesn't have a cross hair in where the full size one does - that means the photo wasn't taken with a cross hair in, right?
We allegedly travelled 119 km/h in a 60km construction zone and we received a fine for only R900? That already doesn't sound right to me! We were extremely careful to travel according to the speed limit everywhere (on our way to our honeymoon using my mother's car) and we definitely didn't see ANY signs saying the speedlimit was 60km/h. What can one do in a case like this? (I guess a temporary construction speed limit sign must have fallen flat or something?)
Last questioin: In the toolkit it says: "Check that the image has the following details are imprinted on it, not to the side of it." Does this photo with the blue strip count as imprinted ON it?
Hi , you needed to past the link code in here which would have looked like this: (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2422/4046955020_3126176d3b.jpg) and appear like this:
This one doesnt have the crosshair in it but the latest is that their software can show or hide the crosshair so the jury is still out on whether they are manipulating that
The pic with the crosshair though does seem as if it is on the rear bumper, it should be on the numberplate or between the rear lights
Thank you admin! I'll do that next time. So what is your opinion on the information in the blue bar - does it count as imprinted on it? And what can one do when you KNOW the speed limit sign wasn't visible? Thanks
Hi Admin I've sent the letter to the Lekwa Teemane Traffic dept with regards to the photo above and they have just sent back a page stating: A decision on your representation i.r.o the abovementioned prosecution was received and is conveyed as follows: Prosecute. My question now is - what can I do because I know the speed limit sign wasn't visible anywhere. How do I proceed to fight this claim? Please help urgently!
Hi ClaireSmuts/Admin I also have a traffic fine for that area, Lekwa Teemane Traffic Dept. How did you resolve your situation as I havent resolved mine yet.
I just received a letter back stating that they would not withdraw the fine.
There is clearer no crosshair visible and according to them please follow link to see pick http://www.star120.co.za/claiming-this.jpg they claiming the fuzzy pixels in the box indicated is the crosshair.
The so called fine was taken with a lazer and according to them that is the crosshair?
Also my understanding is that the information pertaining to the fine must be printed on the photograph. In the case above it is printed above the pic. I have enough photoshop skills to replace every value in the black box how do I know that they have not manipulated the information. Can this raise doubt?
The letter from the traffic dept stated "The details of the alleged infringement is above the image because that is the way this equipment operates." That to me seems crazy, how do I know if that data has not been altered. Is not the entire point of actually printing the details on the photograph to remove this possible doubt?
I'm also overtaking a slow vehicle does this have any effect? Clearly another car is visible in the pic does this also have a possible effect on the equipment.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I would love some clarity on this crosshair issue. I need to send another letter. I'm tempted to alter the details to point out the fact that that information can be easily tampered with.
