General: Very Late Payment ?? please help

    Hey Guys

    Last year Dec 2008 i "received" a fine in colesberg, i say received because i never got it through the mail. Now in august 2009 i received a summons stating my court appearance or that i need to pay the fine. I was planning on paying the fine but i totally forgot about it...OOPS

    Now the date i was supposed to be in court was 5 Oct 2009 but obviously i didnt attend.
    I guess the probably have a warrant for my arrest now so i paid the fine today , do you think they'll let it slide.
    Should i phone them tomorrow and just explain to them what happened??

    Do you have any other ideas what i could do as i dont want to spend my dec holz in jail?

    I do believe you get 14 days grace before they issue the warrant of arrest. Phone the traffic department.

    I phoned them and they said the fine is closed. So it seems even after you had to appear in court they still accept payment.

    As long as you pay everything goes away, the whole system is designed to scare you into paying so if you have done that its all done, but carry your proof just in case
