My mother(81years old-state pensioner) residing in Newcastle Kwa Zulu, has the use of my car. I am residing in Centurion, bought the licence last year, made a copy of the disc en emailed it to a friend in Newcastle. Then mailed the original disc via 'snail mail' to her. Needless to say; She never received it! I still have the rest of the page from which I cut the original out from. She got a traffic ticket for R600 -reason "Failed to licence motor vehicle" "whilst owner failed to display valid disc" The officer then ripped the 'copy' from the windscreen and fold it in four and left her there. Is he allowed to do that? I mean where would she get a copy from if the original was not bought. I am only trying to help her. What should i do now? I am definitely not going to pay the fine, the licence has been bought, I have proof of it and I am also a pensioner cannot afford to drive all the way to Newcastle to go to the court.
